ALTERS AND EN-TRANCES.
In sacred places and temples, altars alter, and entrances entrance.
When the architects of the emerging Celtic Christian era began a construction boom across Europe, they chose to erect their new sites of veneration on top of Druid and Neolithic sacred sites.
Far from a simple superimposition of a new religion over a vanquished faith, the builders – many of whom shared roots in the ancient Egyptian Mysteries Schools – chose this siting deliberately, to harness the subtle energies that had accumulated at the original sites. The clues remain evident in the language of the new buildings, which now came equipped with 'alters' (as spelled in 19th century English), and en-trances.
So, who or what exactly were they altering and entrancing?
During the quest to understand the hidden technology of sacred sites, dowsers and subtle energy researchers find concentrations of electro-magnetism at the temples' original entrances. These seem to upwell from the earth in spiral form like a spring, suggesting that the doorway to the temple acts as a preparation area, charging the human energy field as a person steps over the threshold.
A good example of a temple entrance energizing the body's neurological system is the colonnade of reeds at Saqqara. Each 'reed' and 'pool' (the pillars and spaces) contains an alternating electrical charge that has a corresponding effect on the body's alternating current. Walking down the hall sensitizes you in preparation for entering the courtyard and its sacred space.

Although early Europeans resisted Catholicism by holding fast to their pagan roots of veneration, when they finally brought Christianity to the United States, they did not transfer the traditional understanding of siting churches on energetic hotspots. At this point in history, Puritanical and other orthodox beliefs had gained predominant control over theology, which sought to destroy all remaining connections to paganism and the worship of nature.
And so, by and large, every church in America does not conform to the original rules and purpose of temple-making, making church attendance nothing more than a symbolic ritual devoid of practical purpose. However, there are rare exceptions. The original doorways of the oldest Spanish mission in Pasadena, the San Gabriel Mission, are located in accordance to the underlying electro-magnetic forces of the local landscape, and as a result, a few feet before what used to be the original entrance, a vortex of energy is still detectable in what is now a shady garden.
The same is true of the old San Miguel mission in Santa Fe, built over a Navajo ceremonial site., and Rancho de Chimayo, built over an ancient Anasazi sacred site, whose healing mud is still efficacious today. Clearly the native cultures in North America understood the importance of siting altars and entrances at magnetic hotspots. The story is pretty much the same at mounds found throughout Ohio.

Back in Europe, dowsing maps of Gothic cathedrals such as the one at Salisbury, England, reveal how the positioning of entrances take into account the invisible energies that permeate the landscape. Even more impressive is how the architects sited the thousands of tons of stone in this imposing structure on marshland, which at the time was barely a few feet above water.
Indeed, the blueprint of Salisbury and other gothic structures reveal a spiritual technology at work, for every element of the buildings vectors and focus electro-magnetic energies, and water veins which are already charged due to the electro-magnetism present at the site. The focus points of this energy are specifically poignant: beneath the imposing spire (a word derived from 'spiral'), and from there they reconvene at the altar.
Altars in churches built prior to the 16th century predominantly occupy the most energetic spot on the local landscape – the same location once occupied by obelisks or earthen mounds that had served as 'alters' to the ancients.
Since these locations concentrate both water and magnetic paths of earth energy, and are often charged by an underground spiral force, the combination has a profound influence on the body. And since the human body is electro-magnetic, and is composed of two-thirds water, an alteration of the local energy field can put you into a receptive state that allows for a better connection with stations far beyond this terrestrial sphere.
